The proposal reinterprets the existing building imagining the new as if it were the negative of the old. The roof plane may be thought as an abstraction of the form of the old building. “Light wells” of translucent tensile structures, carves the three principal galleries providing light and allowing to feel from inside the external wether conditions. The current ground level of the museum is almost completely cleared becoming an artificial landscape. The bubbles which constituted the light wells contain metal ramps which connect the various levels of the museum with the roof. The space thereupon contains a water pond in which an island of sculptures placed in the area where the original patio was located is floating.

La proposta presentata reinterpreta l’edificio esistente immaginando il nuovo come il negativo del vecchio. Il piano di copertura è pensato come una astrazione della forma del vecchio edificio.

Pozzi di luce, costituiti da tensostrutture traslucide, sono scavati nei punti in cui si trovano le attuali tre gallerie principali, allo scopo di portare la luce nel centro oltre a permettere dall’interno la percezione dei fenomeni metereologici esterni.

Le sacche che costituiscono i pozzi di luce contengono leggere rampe metalliche che collegano i piani del museo con la copertura. Tale spazio è occupato da uno specchio d’acqua all’interno del quale, oltre ai vuoti delle sacche, nel luogo attualmente occupato dal patio, si trova l’isola delle sculture.
